Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head

Breakfast at a restaurant across the road from the hotel then we drove to Kill Devil Hills, the National Memorial site of the Wright brothers successful first flights & the museum that has a replica of their plane. It's an enormous site that includes the museum, replica huts used by the Wright brothers as living quarters & workshop, a huge memorial atop Big KIll Devil Hill and markers showing the distance each flight travelled. The Park Rangers showed children how to make kites from plastic trash bags as part of the program of activities and talks.
The weather was perfect - started off misty but warm and sunny after a couple of hours.
