On our fourth adventure we set out to sector Vesubio in the cover of darkness. As we started driving up the road to Vesubio we stopped to look for the elusive Highland Guan on their roosting trees, we soon saw two individuals roosting which quickly flew away. Soon after that, the sun started to rise. We began searching for Guan feeding sites along and soon found a suitable spot. After a while of hearing their "upslurring" whistle call, we got to see one jumping up the mountain towards us. We quickly set up the scope and waited. Moments later we got excellent views of this beautiful bird.

At Vesubio, we got impressive views of a male Collared Trogon. Soon after we heard the unmistakeable call of an Ornate Hawk-Eagle, after scanning the horizon we got eyes on a pair of these spectacular raptors.
Returning to our transport, we decided to wait by the main house at Vesubio and watch a nearby Cecropia tree. A flock of mixed Tanagers was actively feeding on the fruits. Suddenly, a flash of metallic blue and black was seen through the leaves, an Azure-rumped Tanager was visible! After a a while of hide and seek, everyone got eyes on this wonderful Tanager.

We set out late in the evening to look for birds around La Laguna. We got excellent scope views of a Turquoise-browed Motmot and a Smoky-brown Woodpecker. As night took over and the moon rose, we hoped to find Owls and night birds. And ofcourse, we were not dissapointed! Owls started calling and after a while we got eyes on a Northern Potoo perched beautifully in a branch out in the open.
While we walked back fo the lodge, we found a pair of adorable Kinkajú looking down at us from their tree.
