Yelarbon is a small rural town in Queensland, located on the border with New South Wales. The town sits about 280 kilometers southwest of Brisbane and 40 kilometers east of Goondiwindi, with a population of around 313. It's positioned on the Cunningham Highway between Goondiwindi and Inglewood.
The area features desert and spinifex grassland with natural salt patches, creating a unique landscape. The town's name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning either water lily or lagoon, relating to the nearby Dumaresq River and Yelarbon Lagoon. Originally used for cattle grazing, it developed into a small village.
