Trail Magic abounds

One of the most special surprises of the Appalachian trail so far has been the presence of “Trail Magic”. Hikers from previous years or local folks setup little (sometimes big) stations at road crossings with all sorts of goodies to keep us smiling down the trail. Often these angels are cooking up burgers or pancakes and have an assortment of snacks, fresh fruit, and hot/cold drinks. They offer it all up for free and are rewarded with so many smiles and super grateful through hikers. The following photos represent less than half of the trail magicians that I have come across.
