Ben Lomond National Park

Diverted here on the way from Launceston to Hobart, via the East Coast, and so glad we did. The scenery is amazing and the drive up to the top of the mountain is spectacular. It added over an hour to our trip, but well worth it.

The Ben Lomond plateau consists of several mountain peaks, including Legges Tor being the 2nd highest point in Tasmania at 1572m. In winter, it's a popular ski resort. At this time a year, it's pretty quiet. The road is gravel all the way in and has its crescendo at the zig zag road known as Jacob's Ladder.
