I. AFR/BW - 14.-16. Tag, Okavango Delta

Von Ghanzi aus fuhren wir weiter in das Okavango Delta.
Leider geht es Sammy nicht allzu gut, so dass wir momentan für 500km ca 4l Öl brauchen und dieses Problem demnächst lösen sollten.

Als allgemeine Faustregel in Botswana gilt: Nehme nur die Erinnerung mit, hinterlasse nur Fußspuren.
Auf dem Zeltplatz angekommen hatten wir dann eine schöne Bootsfahrt in das Delta hinein, sahen sehr viele Vögel wie z.B. Fischadler u.a. und genossen einen sehr coolen Sonnenuntergang. Im Fluss Okavango selbst sollte man übrigens auf keinen Fall schwimmen, da es hier sehr viele Krokodile (mit einer Länge von bis zu 6m) sowie Nilpferde und Elefanten gibt.

Abends bzw. nachts nach der Bar ging ich dann noch auf eine Krokodiltour mit ein paar Einheimischen, bei der wir sehr viele Krokodile sahen (sehr gut an den roten Augen erkennnbar) und schließlich auch 2 Kleinere kurzzeitig fingen - sehr schöne Tiere mit ganz tollen Farben, einem sehr harten Panzer und sehr weichen
Bauch - unglaublich in der Hand zu halten ;)

Hier im Busch heißt es auch - selbst ist die Frau: so gewann ich schon den Kampf mit Wespen, Moskitos, Spinnen und anderen Kleinsttieren :P

Unfortunately Sammy is not feeling well so that we currently need approx. 4l oil for 500km and have to solve this problem asap.

A general rule of thumb for camping in Botswana is: Take only memories, leave only footprints. After arriving at the campground we had a nice boat trip into the Delta, saw a lot of birds such as fish eagle and enjoyed a really nice sunset. By the way, it is not recommended to swim in the Okavango River as there are many crocodiles (from which some of them have a length of up to 6m) as well as hippos and elephants.

In the evening or rather night after bar I went with some locals on a crocodile tour where we got to see a lot of crocs (really easily recognisable on their red eyes) and eventually also temporarily caught two smaller ones - very beautiful animals with superb colours, a very hard back and very soft belly - incredible feeling to touch and hold them ;)
