Arriving into Taipei, I made my way to the Cathay Pacific Lounge where I would spend my layover. The Cathay Pacific Lounge was large; as a major outstation, they had all the features of their homebase counterparts, including a Noodle Bar, but no showers. I made a beeline there and happily tucked into dan dan noodles and a fried glutinous rice. As much as I enjoyed the food in Spain and Italy, I was pleased to have Asian food.

The three hour layover passed quickly and I made my way to board B-HNI, an old school Boeing 777 non-ER -300 stretch, complete with 2-3-2 seating in Business Class. There aren't many of these classics left in service.

The cabin crew on this flight were great, and they performed their inflight service flawlessly. The crew on my aisle took my meal order first, but they served the meals front to back. Cabin Service Manager Christie also came by to chat with me.
