      British hospitality in Spain

      March 3, 2022 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 7 °C

The other day, when posting a photo of the spanish trip on TET's facebook page, Kerry made a kind offer to stay at his off-the-grid site near southern Spanish TET that I was passing. He also said he has a garage full of tools that I can use if any work on the motorcycle is needed (he probably thought I had a KTM or a BMW haha) and that I can do laundry at his place (which it was high time for).

Given that I am travelling solo, I was glad to accept the offer from another motorcycle aficionado. At the time, I was not aware that Kerry was a British expat living in Spain, just though he was a Spaniard with a rather good English :)

Anyways, Kerry met me at a local bar (of course) and guided me to their place. I was presented with an amazing deal of the accomodation, laundry, great dinner with pumpkin soup and cottage pie, a breakfast and a guided tour of the nearby mountain the next day. Not to mention the motorcycle talk over a few beers!

All I can say is a big thank you. I cannot recommend Kerry and Lisa's Blue House enough to any motorcyclist passing by southern Spain near Yecla (or TET near Montealegre). What a great off-the-grid set up, it even has a swimming pool for hot summer days.

I actually wanted to stay longer and chill out at their place but the rainy weather forecast (about the only time it rains in these parts is march) pushed me further south where I hope to make a detour to avoid the rain in the mountains before continuing to the desert of Tabernas and the Sierra Nevada.
