    The Carnage Begins

    November 27, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Well, here we go again, figuring out what we’re going to take what we’re going to pack, and I guess when we get back with all the stuff we haven’t worn. Will probably wonder why we packed it.
Being on something like a cruise ship is a little bit different than travelling in hotels or RV, as you don’t really have access to laundry, other than paying the exorbitant laundry fees that you can get in your suite, which we don’t really want to do, so therefore we need to plan every day and what we’re wearing each day so we won’t have to worry about laundry.
The other thing is clearing out fridges and cupboards to make room for our house/pet sitters to put their stuff in.

  • On Board

    November 28, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 24 °C

Through checkin, through border control and onto the ship only to find at the main dining room that Sue had dropped her passport somewhere when boarding. Stress levels through the roof she bolted off to look for it. Alternatively I just headed to guest services and it had been handed in there. Now to try and find Sue in this floating city and head to the dining room for our welcome lunch and champagne.
Had the most stunning tender Angus steak.

  • Into our Suite

    November 28, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 23 °C

Finally found the suite, forward on the Port side. Plenty of space and nice balcony. Massive bed and all the amenities.

  • Sailaway Party

    November 28, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 21 °C

Due to the weather departure from the port was a little later than usual, and the sailaway party could not be held up on the top deck so it was about 270 bar music. Enjoy the music.

  • 270 Bar

    November 28, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 21 °C

Went and checked out the 270 bar, which normally has lots of activities and shows and things during the trip, however today because of the bad weather they had the Sailaway party there instead of upstairs on the top deck so did more video to come on that shortlyRead more

  • Bionic Bar

    November 29, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ 🌧 24 °C

Have your cocktail made and mixed by a robotic, arm bit of a slow process, but worth it at least once.

  • Lunch at Sorrento’s

    November 29, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ 🌬 24 °C

How much energy you burn walking around a ship this size. You’re walking through bars, clubs, nightclubs restaurants, checked out the one for tomorrow evening when we do the Wonderland. Looking forward to it.Read more

  • Royal Theatre -Sonic Odyssey

    November 30, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ 🌬 24 °C

This show got a huge wrap up by people that had seen it before. Wasn’t to my liking though with 45 minutes of dances dancing to drum beats. Not my kind of entertainment.

  • Detox Seminar

    November 30, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Well they must have walked around the ship handing out brochures for this seminar cause all of em there were fat like me.
Was a great presentation though that woke you up a bit as to why it’s so hard to lose weight.Read more

  • Dinner Chops Grill

    November 30, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ 🌬 25 °C

Chops is supposedly the best restaurant on the ship with aged eye fillet steaks. The meal was not to disappoint, with stunning good wine and service.

  • North Star Bar

    November 30, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

This is gotta be the best bar on the ship. It’s the noisiest, the busiest, the sunniest, and what a great bunch of boys behind the bar.

  • Wonderland

    November 30, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

This is an absolute must if cruising on the Quantum of the Seas. Stunning food presented in such an amazing manner. The pics don’t do them justice
The evening starts out with a blank menu, huh? Then you’re handed a magic brush to wipe your menu with and then the magic happens as the writing just comes to life in front of you. Amazing
This food was the most amazingly presented dishes I’ve ever seen. In all it was an 11 course dinner with all the various starters before the main course.
All you do is order your main, everything else is just standard menu.

  • Yes, It’s a Ship

    December 1, 2023 in New Caledonia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

OMG still can’t get over the size of this thing Quantum of the Seas. Looking at the main pic here across the city the big building in the bottom right is not a building, it’s the Quantum. Close up it’s huge, from a distance it’s monstrous.Read more

  • Noumea, New Caledonia

    December 1, 2023 in New Caledonia ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Wow, such a beautiful place geographically, but definitely not what I was expecting. I was waiting to see all the historical French colonial architecture but there’s none.
They have not preserved any of their colonial history, instead have almost obliterated it now with run down old concrete buildings. Buried in some of the residential back streets were some old remnants, but that’s it , nothing to speak of. Very disappointing.
If certain prolonged their way and cancel our colonial history we will end up the same way. Fortunately not in our time.

  • How Many Bars are There?

    December 1, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Well it’s challenge time. At the end of the trip there will be a prize for the 1st person to answer the question in this heading. “How Many Bars Are There”
To get it right you’ll need to check all our posts and leave a comment on each.
No cheating either, as it’s bars we sat at, and their names, not how many might be listed in the ships manifest.
So, happy posting everyone, the prize will be well worth it.

  • VIP Seating

    December 1, 2023, Coral Sea ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

The perks of being a Key passenger is early premium seating at all stage and theatre shows. Gotta get there at opening though.
