Good bye Darren and Japan!

Well, last day in Tokyo, it’s been quite the trip. I will say this, I do like the late flight out leaving. Our flight is at 5:30 pm, so we needed to head to the airport around 1 pm. That gave us plenty of time to go get some - all together now - Coffee and food! That’s right, good job everyone!
I found another little coffee shop, well Gemini did, that was about a 5 minute walk away. It didn’t have any food though the Latte was fabulous. Again, the store could sit maybe two people and there were a couple of chairs outside. It was a beautiful day as all the rain had moved on, so it turned out to be a great place for a quick coffee. On the other side of the street, a 7-11 where we grabbed one last egg salad sandwich and a peach tea (our favorite but not always easy to find - we went through a number we thought were peach tea and not all tea is “good” tea!).
Walking back to Darren’s to plan our departure to Haneda, we also got to stop by the Akasaka Hikawa Shrine which is right across the street from his apartment. We had been meaning to stop there, but hadn’t made time, so it worked out perfectly with the beautiful weather. With our final tourist spot checked off the list, it was time to say goodbye to our home away from home. We left our key, cleaned our room, counted our suitcases and backpacks, said one final goodbye to Tokyo toilet, and ordered an Uber!
Now, because my mom taught me so well, we only Ubered to the Monorail station where we could get a direct shot to the airport. This allowed us to run down a little bit more of our Suica card (basically the digital card on your phone you use to get around on all the public transportation) and saved me a few $’s, which I’ll need to do after that Wagyu meal!
At the airport, we got all checked in, and headed for the only Delta Sky Club outside of the US, in HND. Lucky Us! And they had a significantly better spread than the ones in the US. With about 3 hours until our flight, we enjoyed a late lunch, settled in watching the planes land and takeoff, and counted down to boarding.
