    Our first visit to the Eiffel Tower was an awe-inspiring experience. As you approach the iconic landmark in Paris, the sheer height and intricate ironwork of the Eiffel Tower captivate your senses. Standing beneath its towering presence, you can't help but marvel at its grandeur. The bustling streets, the Seine River winding its way through the heart of the city, and the architectural wonders in the distance all create an unforgettable sight.     Ken Moore and Bob Wright were two American medics who played a remarkable role during World War II at the Church of Angoville-au-Plain in Normandy, France. Amidst the chaos of the D-Day landings in June 1944, the small 12th-century church became a makeshift field hospital for both American and German soldiers. Moore and Wright selflessly tended to the wounded, regardless of their nationality, demonstrating extraordinary compassion and courage. Their efforts saved many lives and turned the church into a symbol of humanity amidst the brutality of war. Today, visitors can still witness the historical significance of the Church of Angoville-au-Plain and the incredible acts of these two heroic medics.

    Robert Wright desired burial at the church, but bureaucratic obstacles nearly thwarted his wish. Ultimately, part of his ashes found their way into France and were laid to rest in the churchyard, commemorated by an unofficial headstone bearing his initials, "R.E.W."    Читать далее
