Nachtzug von Hà Nội nach Huế

Da Vietnam doch ein recht langgezogenes Land ist und Stephan nicht gern fliegt, haben wir beschlossen, den Nachtzug zu nehmen. Da es im frühen Zug keine vollständig freien Abteile gegeben hat, haben wir den späteren Zug genommen und sind noch ein bisschen durch Hanoi marschiert bevor wir unser "Zimmer" bezogen haben.

Der Wagon war in einem guten Zustand, finde ich. Eher alt, aber das hatte ich erwartet. Die Betten sind fix montiert (unser Abteil hatte 4 Betten, es gibt aber auch Wagons mit Abteilen mit 6 Liegen und Wagons mit Sitzplätzen), man klettert über eine Stufe in das obere Bett. Die Betten sind für mich genau richtig hart gewesen und auch Stoiko und Stephan haben ganz okay geschlafen. Ohne Oropax oder Noise Cancelling Kopfhörer würde ich jedoch nicht dazu raten, die Reise anzutreten, da bei jedem Bahnhof Leute einsteigen um lautstark Speisen anzubieten.

Pro Wagon gibt es ein Sitz- und ein Hock-WC, wobei das Hock-WC die Hälfte der Zeit mit kleinen Hunden und Katzen in kleinen Plastikboxen belegt und versperrt war 😱😱😱

Die Klimaanlage hat erst etwa 1.5 Stunden vor Hue (von etwa 14) aufgegeben, aber da war es ja schon Mittag und dementsprechend draussen schon sehr heiss.

Alles in allem war es in Ordnung, vor allem für den Preis von knappen 30 Euro pro Person für eine Strecke von 688 km. Highspeed Zug wär doch halt super, gibt's halt im Vietnam nicht.

Since Vietnam is a rather long country and Stephan doesn't like flying, we decided to take the night train. Since there were no completely free compartments on the early train, we took the later train and walked around Hanoi a bit before we moved into our "room".

The carriage was in a well enough condition. Old, jut I expected that. The beds are fixed onto the wall (our compartment had 4 beds, but there are also carriages with compartments with 6 beds and carriages with seats), you have to climb intothe upper junk via one step. The beds were just really hard for me and Stoiko and Stephan also slept okay. However, I would not advise starting the journey without earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones, as people get on at every station to loudly offer food.

There is a seat and a squat toilet per wagon, whereby the squat toilet was occupied and locked half the time with small dogs and cats in small plastic boxes 😱😱😱

The air conditioning only gave up about 1.5 hours before Hue (of about 14), but it was already midday and therefore very hot outside.

All in all it was fine, especially for the price of just under 30 euros per person for a distance of 688 km. A high-speed train would be great, doesn't exist in Vietnam.Read more
