Hội An

Hoi An ist ein sehr touristisches kleines Städtchen in Zentral-Vietnam. Wir haben uns in der Nähe vom Strand einquartiert, was sich als sehr entspannend herausgestellt hat. Zwar mussten wir mit dem Taxi fahren um in die Stadt zu gelangen, aber dafür war es ruhig und wir hatten einen schönen, kühlen Pool und es war auch nicht weit zum Strand.

Die Stadt ist wirklich voll mit Touristen, vor allem im Zentrum am Wochenende. Die gut erhaltene Altstadt in der sich chinesische Häuschen, Tempel in Holzbauweise, farbenfrohen Gebäude aus der französischen Kolonialzeit und die typisch vietnamesischen schmalen Stadthäuser mischen ist wirklich bezaubernd.
Die überdachte japanische Brücke ist untertags kaum zu betreten, da sich die Menschen darin stapeln. Abends wimmelt es in den kleinen autofreien (aber nicht mopedfreien!) Straßen und am Fluss von Snackverkäufern, Bootsfahrt Anbietern, Streetfood Ständen, Touristen und Laternen.

Wir haben hier einen Kochkurs gemacht, großartig gegessen und Paolo und Zara wieder getroffen.

Hoi An is a very touristy little town in central Vietnam. We stayed near the beach, which turned out to be very relaxing. Although we had to take a cab to get into town, it was quiet and we had a nice, cool pool, and it wasn't far to the beach.

The city is really crowded with tourists, especially in the center on weekends. The well-preserved old town mixing Chinese shophouses, wooden temples, colorful buildings from the French colonial era and the typical Vietnamese narrow townhouses is really charming.
The covered Japanese bridge can hardly be walked on during the day because people are piling up on it. In the evening, the small car-free (but not moped-free!) streets and the riverside are teeming with snack vendors, boat trip vendors, street food stalls, tourists and lanterns.

We did a cooking class here, had a great meal and met Paolo and Zara again.
