Daikanbo

Daikanbo befindet sich an der nördlichen Caldera-Wand von Aso. Die Anreise ohne Auto/Motorrad ist etwas mühsam, aber möglich (man muss nur von der Bushaltestelle 2 km am Rand der Landstraße entlang gehen).

Dafür hat man dann einen atemberaubenden Blick auf das darunter liegende Aso-Tal und die Gipfel und Krater des Vulkans, die ein bißchen wie eine liegende Gestalt - angeblich der schlafende Buddha - aussehen. Zumindest von hier.

Daikanbo is located on the north caldera wall of Aso. Arriving without a car/motorcycle is a bit tedious, but possible (you only have to walk 2 km from the bus stop along the edge of the country road).

But then you get a breathtaking view of the underlying Aso Valley and the mountains and craters of the volcano which look like a lying person - they say it's sleeping Buddha.Read more
