Bitter Springs

Two separate footprints for Mataranka as we took so many photos! We absolutely loved this lush area after spending weeks in the dry, desert lands. It was as if we suddenly arrived to Northern Queensland - clear springs, green palm trees and humidity in the air.

We stayed at Bitter Springs campground for 2 nights and enjoyed floating downstream in the 35 degree springs, searching for water turtles, eating Vietnamese spring rolls and night walks watching frogs hop around us (and being watched by them in the camp bathrooms 👀).Read more
