This was my second trip to Munnar. I had visited two years ago on a solo adventure, but this time I was here with Sam. Since I was already familiar with Munnar, and it was Sam’s first time, we decided to do it a bit differently — combining Munnar with Vagamon, which is around 90 km away and has no direct bus connectivity from Bangalore or Munnar.

We had booked our Zostel stay in Vagamon for the second night. The initial plan was to spend a night in Munnar, rent a bike to explore the area, and then ride to Vagamon the next day.

One thing I noticed again, just like my last trip, was that many buses from Bangalore don’t drop you directly in Munnar. Instead, there’s a two-part journey. Our bus from Bangalore dropped us in Theni at 6:30 AM. From there, we had to switch to another local bus that drove us through winding roads and lush landscapes, finally reaching Munnar at 9 AM.
