Atacama, Valle de la Luna

Heute ging es in das Tal des Mondes in der Atacama-Wüste. So benannt, da es in manchen Abschnitten an die Mondoberfläche erinnert. 25 ml Regen im Jahr und damit eine der trockensten Wüsten überhaupt. Wenn es dann mal regnet, verdunstet das Wasser auch recht schnell. Es hinterlässt dann ausgewaschenes Salz, was dann aussieht wie Schnee, wie auf den ersten Bildern zu sehen. Ansonsten rötliches Gestein mit Salz und Kreide durchzogen, Sand, es gibt einen (!) Busch und keine Tiere. Hübsch!

Today we went to the Valley of the Moon in the Atacama Desert. So named because it resembles the lunar surface in some sections. 25 ml of rain a year and thus one of the driest deserts overall. When it rains, the water evaporates pretty quickly. It leaves behind leached salt which then looks like snow as seen in the first pictures. Otherwise reddish rock with salt and chalk, sand, there was one (!) bush and no animals. Pretty!Lue lisää
