Inca Trail, Second Day, Afternoon

Nach dem Mittagessen ging es gleich wieder bergauf, zum zweiten Pass des Tages. Dieses mal nur mehr 4.000m hoch. Danach ging es teils steil bergab. Kurz vor Sonnenuntergang erreichten wir die Inkastätte Sayacmarka und bei Einbruch der Dunkelheit unser Camp in Choquicocha. Ich machte Bekanntschaft mit den Hock-Klos. Löcher im Boden mit Spülung. Klasse, wenn 3 Paar Hosen das Hinhocken eh schon schwierig machen, mal ganz abgesehen davon, dass deine Beine nach so einem Tag eh nicht mehr tun, was du willst (beispielsweise aufstehen) und dein Gesicht in Höhe des Eimers mit dem benutzten Toilettenpapier anderer Leute schwebt. Da hockste also irgendwo am Arsch der Welt im Dunkeln, ein kalter Wind umweht deinen Popo, Taschenlampe im Mund und fragst, was du hier eigentlich genau machst. So lernt man Demut.

After lunch we went straight uphill again, to the second pass of the day. This time only 4,000m high. After that it went steeply downhill. Shortly before sunset we reached the Inca site Sayacmarka and at nightfall our camp in Choquicocha. I became acquainted with the squat toilets. Holes in the bottom with flushing. It's great when 3 pairs of pants make it difficult to squat anyway, quite apart from the fact that after a day like this your legs don't do what you want anyway (e.g. standing up) and your face is on the same level as the bucket with other people's used toilet papers. So you're crouching somewhere in the dark, a cold wind blows around your bottom, flashlight in your mouth and you're asking what you're actually doing here. That's how you learn humility.Baca lagi
