Valladolid, Cenote Saamal

Die Saamal Cenote liegt ein paar Kilometer außerhalb der kleinen Kolonialstadt Valladolid und war einst ein heiliger Platz für die Mayas, die dort den Regengott Chaac mit Ritualen würdigten. Sie ist 60m im Durchmesser und ungefähr 40m tief. Und einfach nur toll. Viel tiefer als die anderen 2 Cenotes zuvor, kann man hier springen und ein bisschen schwimmen. 😍
So, verbleiben nur noch 9.997 weitere Cenoten zum anschauen… 🤣

Located a few kilometers outside of the small colonial town of Valladolid, the Saamal Cenote was once a sacred place for the Mayans, who performed rituals there to honor the rain god Chaac. It is 60m in diameter and about 40m deep. And just great. Much deeper than the other 2 cenotes before, you can jump here and swim a bit. 😍
