Train to New York

Wer hätte gedacht, dass die Zugfahrt von Providence nach New York so landschaftlich schön ist? Über Sumpfland und am Meer entlang, hat man in 3,5 Stunden wirklich viel zu sehen. Nach dem Starkregen am Abend vorher (inkl. einer sehr lauten Sturzflutwarnung am Handy) lag das Gebiet zu Beginn der Reise auch noch im morgendlichen Dunst. Dann spuckt mich der silberne Amtrak-Zug am Bahnhof aus und ich bin in einer anderen Welt. Von Natur ist nicht mehr viel zu sehen, aber dafür die berühmten Wolkenkratzer in unglaublicher Anzahl und Höhe. Der Lärm um mich herum ist immens, aber passt hierher.

Who knew the Providence to New York train ride was so scenic? Across marshes and along the sea, there really is a lot to see in 3.5 hours. After the heavy rain the evening before (including a very loud flash flood warning on the mobile phone), the area was still in the morning haze at the beginning of the trip. Then the silver Amtrak train spits me out at the station and I'm in another world. There is not much left to see from nature, but the famous skyscrapers in incredible numbers and heights.
