Yogya, Kraton (Sultan’s Palace)

Der Königspalast von Yogyakarta ist ein Palastkomplex in der Stadt Yogyakarta. Es ist der Sitz des amtierenden Sultans von Yogyakarta und seiner Familie. Der Komplex ist ein Zentrum der javanischen Kultur und enthält ein Museum mit königlichen Artefakten. Die zweistündige Tanzaufführung ist für Europäer völlig unverständlich, es gibt keine Erklärungen vor Ort. Also sieht man heftigst geschminkte Herren und Damen, die gestenreich mit viel Taram und Live-Orchester um einander herumstehen und herumtanzen. Sicher gewinnt am Ende der Gute. The Royal Palace of Yogyakarta is a palace complex in the city of Yogyakarta. It is the seat of the reigning Sultan of Yogyakarta and his family. The complex is a center of Javanese culture and contains a museum of royal artifacts. The 2 hours dance performance is completely incomprehensible to Europeans, there are no explanations on site. So you see heavily made-up men and women standing and dancing around each other with lots of gestures and a lot of taram and a live orchestra. Surely the good guy wins in the end.
