Bangkok - Chiang Rai

Mit dem Boot setzen wir wieder über auf “unsere” Flußseite. Das Royal Theatre, in dem wir uns einen traditionellen thailändischen Maskentanz anschauen hätten können, ist leider zu weil Samstag. Ohhhhhh. 🤪 (Glück gehabt!) Stattdessen folgen wir der Empfehlung eines Inders auf der Strasse und essen in einem tollen Lokal indisch, nun völlig stressfrei. 😎 Danach fahren wir zum Flughafen, bewundern dort die Deko (für König und Weihnachtsmann) und Bea wird 20 min vor Boarding nochmal zum Check in gerufen, weil sie das Akku ihrer Stirntaschenlampe im Aufgabegepäck gelassen hat. Während sie keichten Stress hat, verdrücke ich noch schnell einen Windbeutel, fast so gut wie die von dir, Silvi, aber nur fast. (Ausserdem haben die mich nicht den rohen Teig kosten lassen… 🤣). Im Flieger ist es mal wieder ziemlich frisch, wie meistens bei Air Asia. In Chiang Rai gibt’s einen blumigen Empfang und ein schönes Taxi ohne Wartezeit. Allet juht!

We take the boat back to “our” side of the river. The Royal Theater, where we could have watched a traditional Thai mask dance, is unfortunately closed on Saturday. Ohhhhhh. 🤪 (Lucky!) Instead, we follow the recommendation of an Indian on the street and eat Indian food in a great restaurant, now completely stress-free. 😎 Then we drive to the airport, admire the decorations (for the King and Santa Claus) and Bea is called back to check in 20 minutes before boarding because she left the battery of her head flashlight in her checked luggage. While she's under a lot of stress, I quickly eat a cream puff, almost as good as yours, Silvi, but only almost. (Also, they didn’t let me taste the raw dough… 🤣). It's pretty cool on the plane again, as is usually the case with Air Asia. In Chiang Rai there is a flowery welcome and a nice taxi with no waiting time. All good!Read more
