• Closing Out 2025

We ended 2025 by spending the holidays with Christian and getting work done on the RV. Our first night in Texas was spent in the Freightliner parking lot where Christian joined us. The next day we flew to VA for Kevin’s dad’s funeral at Arlington National Cemetery. It was a beautiful ceremony that included the Air Force band, Color Guard and a 21 gun salute. I think the most poetic moment was when Daniel, Bob’s 3rd oldest grandson who is in the Air Force and wore his blues, saluted the casket. Dan said Pawpa gave him his first salute and he gave Pawpa his last salute. Still tears me up.
Christian and I walked in the Sugar Creek Turkey Trot then we all spent Thanksgiving with the Crockers and had a lovely time. We helped Arthur decorate his boat for the Christmas Boat Parade one weekend and rode with him in the parade the next weekend, that was fun and different. In the middle of December we took the RV to PPL to replace the gray water tank. Our friend Lisa generously offered her place to stay while the rig was in the shop for 4 days. And we got to sleep on our old sleep number bed because she bought it from us! Christian spent 5 days with us in the RV to celebrate Christmas which was wonderful. We bought a small artificial tree and I was able to put up the ornaments I’ve collected over the last 2 years. We didn’t have a tree for the last 2 years which made me sad so it was joyful to have one again!
After Christmas we went back to Frightliner and spent 3 nights in the parking lot while they continued to work on the engine after coordinating with Cummins for diagnostic suggestions. We’re crossing our fingers that the turbo problem is fixed; we won’t really know until we get to steep hills.
