    C: Père Lachaise Cemetery

    March 16, 2018 in France ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

On the recommendation of our host (along with other sources) we did a walking tour of the Père Lachaise Cemetery. I thought it would be a good place to do my first guided audio tour by Rick Steves. I'm not cultured enough to recognize all the people who he mentioned have ended up here, but Chopin, Oscar Wilde, and Jim Morrison I do know. It was such a nice walk through a part of Paris I think people just skip because it's either too far from other tourist things or they think a cemetery is creepy. The memorials about French airlines crashes and WW2 losses were what spoke to me. Seeing the Mauthaussen Memorial took me back to walking through that concentration camp.
