Getting the hang of go-slow 🐌

Our travel plans... go slow, stay longer, expore & learn...with Ted trying to surf fulltime & me trying to work partime 😂
Unfortunately 1st leg starts with me off-line 🤧 & Ted off to Mattaram alone for provisioning... lets just say the important stuff 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍷 & ⛽️ was definitely 👌, the green stuff bit less so.
Next, we mosied down south to the Gili 🏝s, ready for leap around the corner. ⛵️ in Indo requires planning. 1) ocean current, often 5-7knts, is boss so travel with, not against & note🌙 cycle as it effects 💪 of current. 2) winds need to be generally going same direction otherwise 🌊 stand up. 3) hope for no to low swell 🤞.
8 Jan, with these 3 aligned, we launch 7am, stoked to have SV Gathering as boat buddy 😀. Well, it was definitely an interesting trip... 8knts at times, hobby horsing near the headlands & surprise waves over the roof. I worked on route totally focused, dialled into my meetings & holding onto my monitor screens... no idea things were falling down around me, lucky Ted didn't go overboard hey 🤣.
Lunchtime we arrived @ beautiful Bolongas Bay & are still here. Our days/weeks have been spent exploring the area when the 🌞 is out & collecting water when the monsoon squalls 🌧 roll in. It's a sweet ⚓️ spot as super protected, surf within watch/paddle distance, nice warung nearby & a friendly weekly market. But Indo beautiful comes with its own challenges... language 🤔, limited fresh veg, tiny protein 🐟 🐓 & lots of rubbish 🫣.
We def got complacent about 🐊, week 2, I remembered to ask warung owner... lets just say my daily laps around boat are no more.
Lots of time its been just us, but we've also had great Ozzie company... 1 week, 6 Oz 😻 stay to share the surf, so lots of fun. We keep busy... me enjoying yoga, indo lessons, baking & work... Ted rescuing fishing pontoons, boat jobs and of course, surfing.
We are ready to ✂️ taproot (out of life essentials (🧻 🧈 🍋) so next weather window the plan is to move east... all 15nm to Kuta Lombok & shops.
