Operation Malmö

We had thought it would be a good idea to take the train to Malmö for a day trip. We headed out to the Central station and finally worked out how to purchase tickets. We made several attempts but failed - we finally asked a Danish guy to help us and he responded - use another machine. Once we did this we had success. We then headed down to the platform to wait for our train. Unfortunately there was some kind of “IT” issue that was causing havoc with the trains. We finally boarded a train to Malmö and after about 10 minutes we were advised that the train would be leaving in 47 minutes! We couldn’t believe it, the train kept getting fuller and fuller. After 20 minutes, we were advised to get off the train and board a train on platform 7 for Malmö.

At this point we had been at the station for about 90 minutes and we were loosing patience so we decided to abort our trip to Malmö, head back to the centre of town and have lunch, we went to a lovely Italian place near our apartment called the Amalfi. We had pizza and they were authentic and delicious. As I had over indulged last night I couldn’t stomach the thought of a wine, so I stuck to water and coffee!

After lunch we went back to Studio Arhoj so I could get a couple of pottery pieces that had caught my eye. We then returned to the apartment for a bit of a rest and so I could catch up on my blog. About 4pm we headed out to do a little more shopping as Emma’s birthday is coming up next week. Brigitte found a lovely leather backpack that we think Emma will love.

We then went for a bit more of a walk to get some more fresh air. While we were out I got a hankering for a hot dog - probably because I hadn’t eaten much and was still feeling a little hung over, and it was bloody delicious and exactly what the doctor ordered. We then headed back to the apartment for a quiet evening. Hopefully the people who frequent the bars nearby won’t keep us awake again tonight.Читать далее
