From Kyoto we continued our trip of train rides to Hiroshima.
We started our visit with a trip to the peace park and museum remembering the events of WWII and the atomic bomb. A somber reminder of the cost of war and the unbelievable power of atomic weapons. It's crazy to think that my grandparents were younger than I am now during that time.
Besides the well known peace dome, the rest of the city has been rebuilt and is full of life today. Including some delicious okonomiyaki - a dish consisting of egg, sona noodles, cabbage, pork and sauce, all pan fried together on a massive grill. So so good!
We spent the rest of our time relaxing and shopping and eating (of course). It's hard work exploring a whole country, we are definitely winding down :)Read more
