Sare, Pyrénées-Atlantiques

Our first stopover in the western foothills of the Pyrénées is at Sare which is part of the traditional Basque province of Labourd. En route we hopped in and out of Spain.
It's a really charming commune with traditional 'Basque Houses' dotted in the landscape. Yesterday we stocked up our fridge and food cupboards as we don't expect to come across so much commerce as we traverse the mountains. But we have found a boulangerie for the morning!Read more
