It's a public holiday in France today and tomorrow (VE day and Ascension day respectively), so the roads are very busy; everyone is out enjoying themselves and motorhome parking in popular tourist places is at a premium! Nevertheless we've had an incredibly beautiful drive across the mountains and we've found a space in a park up in the beautiful town of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. The town is the starting point for the Camino Francés, the most popular option for travelling the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. (We met 2 women from the USA who were undertaking the walk).
The town is absolutely steeped in history and truly picturesque and full of tourists and pilgrims today. We've also had beautiful weather to enjoy exploring this lovely place. Czytaj więcej
