    So I was at first surprised to find out that there is a Stalingrad in Paris. And again, surprised to find out there is a Moscou in Ghent. Moscou, a neighbourhood in Ghent, was named so because of the presence of the Russian army in the city in 1814 during the Napoleonic wars. Before the Russians arrived, the city had been under administrative control of Napoleon. So that's just another thing that is the way it is because of Napoleon. He really did leave his mark!Read more
