Isla Mujeres Catamaran Trip

On our last day in Cancun we decide to take the Catamaran trip that "team stink" had planned on doing but didn't get around to. An all you can drink affair, full day boat trip complete with snorkeling at the underwater museum, buffet lunch at Isla Mujeres (a popular island off the coast of Cancun.. Johnny Depp has a holiday home here!), exploring the island and a Spinaker ride off the catamaran.. looks a bit like parasailing.

Won't go into the details but it didn't live up to the hype.. once again way too many people (50 of us!) and it was a pretty hot day. The water was beautifully clear for the snorkelling though.

Lowlight of the day was when we got to the island and there was another "attraction"- 2 depressed looking nurse sharks held captive in a 3 x 3m pen forced to take photos with the tourists for money.. they fed us some story about how it was for shark conservation. We didn't buy it.

Back to Cancun and off to the airport hotel.. ready for our early 6am flight to Kansas City tomorrow!Read more
