The 6th chamber nearby turned out to be a very small one. It was more like a grotto. But, the interesting thing about it was that the exit to all the formations was from in here via an extremelyLue lisää

The exit passageway of the formations was an adventure in itself. It was extremely narrow and we had to twist and turn our way out of it.

Back at the start, we went to the cave we had skipped on our way to the back. It was a small one totally covered by shrubs at the entrance.
Inside there were paintings also done in animal blood.
Lunch - Itas & Umajalanta cave

We stopped by at a restaurant on our way back, very near the Umajalanta cave. It had a very scenic location with the dining area looking out over the hills around.

Crawling, climbing and hanging, we reached our 1st sight of the limestone formations inside the cave.

Deep inside, we reached a chamber where there were limestone pillars formed by millions of years of seeping water collecting calcium carbonate forming the stalagmites and stalactites eventuallyLue lisää

Deeper inside we went climbing up and climbing down. We saw some interesting limestone formations like the curtain and the Christmas tree.

Ya. There was water on the floor at some places. Oxygen too was fine. Never felt suffocated
Umajalanta - Crawl to the water pool

Next up was a fabulous experience of crawling on all fours through a very narrow gap through to a bigger chamber with a waterfall.

After crawling through the narrow gap we reached the chamber of the waterfall. It was surreal.

We continued along the stream for some more meters. At one of the places, we had to rappel down to go along the stream again.

Eventually we saw some light ahead and it was the exit of the cave.

Off to Cochabamba

Outside of the canyon, we took a different and a very scenic route back to the starting point. On the way we saw a huge turtle formation as well.

We arrived at Cochabamba by about 9:30 pm. We checked in at the same Hotel Arasan as the last time. We got the same room as well (501).

We woke up late so we missed the breakfast which was from 7:30 - 9:00 am. We decided to laze around the hotel for a while more since there's not much to see in Cochabamba. We checked the tickets to LaLue lisää
Cochabamba - Teleferico to the top

We were dropped off very near the station of the teleferico. We took the tickets to the top at 6.50 b$ per head.
Cochabamba - Cristo de la Concordia

As we started going up, the views of the city were amazing. Cochabamba is in a bowl shaped valley with hills all around.
The statue of Jesus is about 33 mts tall and is facing the city of CochabambaLue lisää

The views of the city from above were very lovely. One could see a 360 degrees panorama all around. We roamed around for a while and then sat on one of the benches to have our breakfast.
Off to La Paz

We came down the same route and took the micro back to the hotel. Luckily, the laundry had completed so we took our clothes and then took a taxi to the airport for 15 b$.

At the Cochabamba airport, there was a huge number of abandoned planes. Most of the planes were belonging to AeroSur. Looks like it got bankrupt and no one bought the planes. There were at least 20 ofLue lisää
Flight to La Paz

The flight from Cochabamba to La Paz was a short one of 45 min. The views on the way were breathtaking. It was cloudy in Cochabamba when we left and it was no different in La Paz. There was a thickLue lisää
