Into the 1st cave

There was a well paved pathway passing through to the 1st cave in a series of caves in this area. It was about 5 meters above the ground with steps leading into it.
Inside the 1st cave

The 2nd cave was a small one of about 5 meters with a dead end. The opening to the cove between the caves lead further on the path to the rest of the caves.
Outside the 2nd cave

The views were really beautiful in the cove outside the caves. Even the pathetic back to the caves looked picturesque.
Caves on the guano hill

Last of the caves

Further on, was the last of the caves on this path. This too had an opening on the other side. It was about 20 mts long inside.
Primitive cave paintings

Inside of the last cave, we saw paintings from about 10000 BC. Most of the paintings have been vandalized but one of a llama remains as it was originally.
End of the cave walk

Even the high pass was of sand and desert vegetation. In the valley below it was quite green with corn plants and other shrubs and trees.

What a contrast,people living at green pastures must be thanking their stars on seeing the barren ,lifeless sand dunes all the time.

In the hill behind the Colcas were geoglyphs. There were shapes of llamas, humans, condors amd other forms that have been destroyed over time.

Further in the valley towards Arica we saw the geoglyphs with frog like formation with other figures around like the llama etc. Its not known the purpose of the figures.
