• A tribute to the big man - Nick

I wanted to see the famous glow worms in Waitomo caves but had been recommended to do something different and go through the cages in a tube. That sounded fun, didn't it?

So, I go to book the trip and I found a smaller company who offered small group excursions, they only had 18 reviews which made me wonder but I just felt like they had something different about them! I DID not read the information about the trip if I did I might not have done it.

I am so pleased I went with my instincts ! It was mainly a caving trip with a small amount of time in a tube which was amazing, the glow worms were stunning, I did ask if they were real as they looked like those little stars you used to have in your bedrooms as kids!

So we climbed, tubed, swam, floated down a fun cave rapid and had an amazing time. The tour was so personalised there was just me!! It's winter, caving in a cold cave isn't that popular and the 18 reviews was because they've only just opened.

The reason it's a dedication to my dear Stepdad, Nick, can be discussed at another time but if you know, you know. I hated caves for so many reasons and this trip took my so far out of my comfort zone but shows me that I need to do that as some of the most amazing experiences will be missed otherwise.

Nick, this was for you ♥️
