• Week Six - Where is the time going?

    Jul 8–15, 2025 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 6 °C

I have been living in a car for over a month now! I know I'm repeating myself but Steve Aragorn is really small. It's definitely taught me a lot about living simply and being really grateful for the smallest of luxuries!

This week, the weather hasn't been the greatest and parts of the South Island have really suffered with flooding. I've survived but have been drenched on several occasions but wet weather gear has helped a great deal.

I have experienced some of the most amazing incredible scenery this week. For those of you who read these posts regularly, I often mention the amazing scenery but driving into Queenstown from the Crown range was out of this world and never made it on to camera due to the appalling weather but I think the south of the south island the views are just going to keep getting more amazing.

Day 36 Hokitika - West coast wilderness bike trail
Day 37 - Hokitika to Franz josef via Okarito
    Day 38 - Franz josef - hiking
Day 39 - Alex Knob and Lake Wombat
Day 40 - Spectular drive to Queenstown once I had sorted my flat battery. I went over a bridge called Edith Cavell Bridge (important for those who know)
Day 41 - Queenstown Hill walk and new boots!!
Day 42 - First sighting of a kiwi at the Kiwi park (no photo!) and many other NZ native birds then bye bye Queenstown. Arrived at Cromwell and walked to Jacksons Lookout.

Cromwell will have it's own page as its quite beautiful here. More on that...
