Mackintosh Dam & Zeehan

Travelling from Cradle Mountain we stopped off at Mackintosh Dam and Zeehan.

Zeehan is a weird little town that had a couple of great old buildings from when this town was big in mining silver.

After a quick walk the Main Street we headed to the Spray Tunnel, a relic from the mines. The drive there is really beautiful and the tunnel itself is only 100m long so an easy walk.

We stopped off at the Pioneer Cemetery which was only used from 1891 to 1930 and is one of the strangest cemeteries I have been to. It is completely overgrown and seems to go on forever. As you walk around and look through the scrub you can see the tips of headstones, trees growing through the graves and the remnants of timber crosses.Leer más
