    Port Arthur- we escaped!

    September 27, 2016 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Port Arthur was more fun than we expected. It was a lot of ruins that used to be a convict gaol. The prisoners had to build their own gaol and make their own bricks and iron bars! Life was tough there and there were even boys as young as 9 being punished there on a separate island for kids. It's all very broken because a bushfire wrecked a lot of it. The broken buildings had no roof so looked like a maze. The prison hospital looked horrible and the doctors and nurses were other prisoners! Sam tried on leg irons and they were NOT comfortable.Read more
