  • Escobar Tour in Peñol

    4 febbraio 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Close to Peñol we got picked up by a few jeeps, having "comfortable" seats on the roof. the view was great though. After a 20min drive we got to Escobar's most famous property. The area is still exactly the same as it was a few years ago. During the most successful time the famous drug dealer used to live at this nice place next to a small lake. by the way, James Rodriguez (Colombian football star) has his house just next to it. After a paintball session in Escobar's guest house we got picked up by a boot that lead us to Guatape, the city full of colour....Leggi altro

  • Escobar trip in Medellin

    16 febbraio 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

After the tour in Guatape I decided to do another Escobar tour in Medellin as I was very interested in the whole history and development of the drug traffic. Escobar owned more than 200 properties in Medellin as well as some in America and Australia. A very intelligent person called "Robin Hood Pisa" (Robin Hood from Medellin) because he helped all the poor people, became almost the president of Colombia, ended up as the biggest criminal in the history of Columbia.Leggi altro

  • Fútbol con los niños, Comuna 13

    17 febbraio 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

It was the most impressive day so far. We went to the favelas with a guy from school who knows the people there. The conditions there were just unbelievable, as they have to fight for their life everyday. But we joined a social project for the day that looks after the kids in the favelas. After a passionated football match we shared all our candies we bought at the supermarket with them. Made them the happiest kids I ve ever seen! Great!Leggi altro

  • Visit from Suiza

    25 febbraio 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

After my school in Medellin my uncle decided to come to Colombia to go travelling for 2 weeks. As a big surprise for me also my dad and Daniel ended up in Medellin for a vacation. We spent 4 days in Medellin where I showed them the most impressive places like Guatape, Comuna 13, Poblado or the stadium watching a game of Independiente Medellin. As Peter spent many months in Medellin a few years ago it was also great to get to meet some old friends of him.Leggi altro

  • Cartagena y Isla del Encanto

    28 febbraio 2017, Colombia ⋅ 🌬 30 °C

    4 marzo 2017, Colombia ⋅ 🌬 38 °C

A 1 hour trip from Santa Marta brought us to the Tayrona Park. A park that shows the beauty of this country. As Peter spent many months in this park we were welcomed by the local people like a family. Fresh fish straight from the sea and cold beer were served every day. I loved hanging out with the locals, practising my spanish and get to know the culture down here even more.Leggi altro

  • Parque Tayrona

    9 marzo 2017, Colombia ⋅ 🌬 38 °C

We enjoyed the days by hanging out at the beach, meeting Peter's old friends, playing some football with the locals and wining at Jass (cards) against Peter ;-) At our last day they even picked us up by their horses, that got us a ride out of the park. scared the shit out of me but it was great, thanks guys. Awesome time here.
After Tayrona my uncle and my dad had to leave again and I started travelling by myself.

  • Minca

    11 marzo 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

After Santa Marta which I did not like too much I decided to go into the nature again - to Minca. Disconnected from the rest of the world I enjoyed the quiet and pure nature at this place. Watching one of the best sunsets I have ever seen with a cold beer and some other backpackers made this place unforgetable.Leggi altro

  • Finca de cafe y cerveza

    12 marzo 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

With a couple I met on the way to Minca I decided to do a tour to the coffee farm and a local brewery. Great beer! Colombia is the second biggest export of coffee. Mainly to the US and Europe. As they export the best quality of coffee and keep just the lower quality, it is very hard to find a restaurant with good coffee here in Colombia. Funny but true.Leggi altro

  • Guajira

    14 marzo 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

I traveled further down the coast just next to Venezuela to do a trip in the desert.
We started a 3 day trip in the desert from Riohacha. Took us about 3 hours on a difficult road to get into desert. Very poor people live there that do not even have drinking water - their bodies are used to salt water. So we brought them some water and visited them on the way to Cabo de la vela where we stayed for our first night. A very quiet place that is famous for kite surfing.Leggi altro

    15 marzo 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

After the night in Cabo de la Vela we had a long trip all the way up north to the dunes, a very nice place far away from ecerything else. After a break, enjoying the beach and finally having a "shower" in the ocean we kept moving to the most northern point of Colombia and South America. We spent the night there drinking some rum and playing some cards - what else to do there?! The next morning we got picked up by some boats that brought us back to the civilisation where we finished our amazing trip in Riohacha.Leggi altro

  • Palomino

    18 marzo 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

On my way back from the desert Riohacha to Santa Marta I stopped in Palomino. A very nice place at the Carribean coast. I got up early in the morning to do a tubing trip on the river close by. At 7am I was able to discover the pure nature including some animals close to Palomino while floating on the water for 2 hours. Great experience. Afterwards I took a bus to the airport in Santa Marta to head down to Bogota.Leggi altro

  • Bogota

    20 marzo 2017, Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Leggi altro

  • Geysers del Tatio

    22 marzo 2017, Cile ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

On my 2nd day I got up at 4am to go to Geysers del Tatio, a nature spectacel that is unique in Chile and Bolivia. Underground water get in touch with hot vulcano stone that makes the water boil and explode. Freezing cold but a great experience. After a nice breakfast during the sunrise we were able to go for dip in the hotsprings.Leggi altro

  • Vulcano Lascar

    23 marzo 2017, Cile ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Picked up at 5am we had a 2 hour drive to the basecamp of the 6000m vulcano where we had breakfast, drank Coca tea (good for the height) and watched the sunrise. Amazing landscape somewhere in the desert! As I ve been travelling for a long time I did not have much winter clothes with me. Unexpected -5 degrees made it a very cold morning until we started our hike. With 2 other guys and the guide I started my journey all the way up to to the still active Lascar vulcano. The altitude makes it a very difficult walk. And besides that I did not have any gloves, which made it also freezing cold and i could not use any sticks for the way up. I was probably the worst prepared guy walking up this giant mountain. But after 4-5 hours we made it all the way up to the top and it was worth all the suffering. Totally exhausted I enjoyed the amazing view up there before we had to make our way down again.

After this great journey we had a few beers in the evening while watching Chile-Argentina with some locals. I decided to leave the desert in the next morning and head further down south to Valparaiso.

  • Valparaiso

    25 marzo 2017, Cile ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Gracias Chile!
