• Hiking Tre Cime di Lavaredo

    June 27, 2025 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 57 °F

Today we hiked Tre Cime di Lavaredo & Cadini di Misurina, and wrapped up our time in the Dolomites.

This particular hiking day required a reservation to enter the nature park, and we weren’t able to get a slot until 11:30am, so we started our day with sleeping in! We then grabbed a leisurely coffee and made breakfast at home.

When we got to the nature park we headed first to Cadini di Misurina, which was a short 2 mile out and back that gave absolutely epic views of the jagged peaks on this mountain range. After we’d wrapped the 2 miles and gotten our fill of pictures, we stopped at the nearest Rifugio, and Chris grabbed a heaping portion of gnocchi to energize him for upcoming hike.

Next we began the 6 mile Tre Cime di Lavaredo route, which had us hike around three massive rock pillars that make up the core of the mountain range. The hiking wasn’t terribly challenging, and on the way we stopped at an awesome meadow overlook which gave a vista of more jagged peaks. Midway through this hike we took a slight detour to check out a few mountain lakes and another rifugio, before continuing on and wrapping the hike.

Once we arrived home we prepared one last home cooked meal(pesto gnocchi with sun dried tomatoes, pan fried vegetables, and caprese salad), and then we packed up to prepare for our travel day to Lake Como tomorrow.
