Traveling to Lake Como

Today we left the Dolomites and made our way to our next destination, Lake Como.

We started our day with coffee from the nearby cafe and breakfast at home, before packing up and hitting the road for our four hour drive to Milan. We drove through some beautiful countryside, and saw an incredible number of castles all over the mountains. Halfway through we took a potty stop at one of the AutoGrills, and were pleased to see this one had an excellent sandwich selection(Chris had mortadella with stracciatella and pistachio).

We hopped back on the road, and eventually made our way to Milan where we dropped the rental car. We walked to the nearby train station and grabbed a spot on a train direct to Como, and were very pleased that first class tickets were only $15 total for the both of us!(we were shocked these weren’t sold out, as second class was much more tight).

Upon arriving in Como we got settled in at our Airbnb, and then went grocery shopping to prepare a nice salad for dinner. We were shocked by the heat in Como(apparently there is a serious heat wave gripping Europe) and we opted to relax for the evening vs go out. Tomorrow we will explore the lake!Read more
