    Como Funicular and Faro Voltiano

    Today we took an easy day of R&R, riding the Como Funicular and doing a short hike to Faro Voltaire (Como’s lighthouse).

    We started our day with breakfast at home, and then grabbed cappuccinos at a local cafe. Given the heat, we headed straight for the Como Funicular(cable car) and rode it to the top of the mountains outside Como. From here we opted to hike the rest of the way to the mountain’s peak, where Como’s lighthouse Faro Voltiano sits.

    We planned for today to be a fully r&r day, but the hike was a bit more challenging than we expected. It was short at .9 miles up, and .9 miles back, but did have a sneaky 700 feet of elevation gain that was fairly steep! Once we got to the top we took pictures of the epic views and then headed back down the funicular.

    Back in Como, we grocery shopped for lunch and dinner, and then relaxed at home cooking and watching a few episodes of our new show we are watching, Yellowstone.    Read more
