Como to Milan

Today we headed out from Como, to our final destination in Italy, Milan.

We ate quickly at our Airbnb before heading out, and grabbed cappuccino at a local cafe as we walked our baggage to the train station. We took a train from Como to Milan, and then the metro through the city center to our hotel on the outskirts by the airport.

After dropping our bags we took the metro back into the heart of Milan to explore. We did a decent amount of walking around the Piazza Del Duomo, which is a central plaza housing the cathedral. We stopped at a nearby sandwich shop so Chris could get a bite, and then walked to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, which is a massive indoor shopping complex that is open air and houses a ton of upscale designer brands. The architecture here was beautiful, but because it was open air it was just too hot to stay long.

We opted to explore more and grab gelato, and then headed back to the cathedral. At the cathedral we took a lift to the roof, where we were able to walk the entire perimeter and grab epic shots of the city. Once we’d had our fill of the roof, we headed inside the cathedral to take in the beautiful interior architecture.

After exploring the cathedral we headed back to the sandwich shop Chris ate at for lunch and grabbed more sandwiches, and Aperol spritz’s.

Following this we decided to call it a night, as we were both really tired from all the trekking through Italy. Tomorrow we fly to the UK and meet the Warmerdam family!Läs mer
