    Travel to Grange-Over-Sands

    Today we traveled from Bristol to Grange-Over-Sands, stopping to visit Dyrham Park on the way.

    We started our day with breakfast and coffee at the hotel, and then headed straight for Dyrham Park. Dyrham Park is a 17th century baroque English country home, that was actually shown in the Netflix show Bridgerton! We arrived in pouring rain, so waited that out before heading onto the grounds.

    The home was massive, and we toured the gardens before going through the bulk of the home, exploring the residence and service quarters. The house was like a time capsule, and gave us a great idea of the art and architecture of the time.

    After Dyrham Park we took a lengthy 4 hour drive to Grange-Over-Sands, where we met with Nicole(Chris’ sister) and her husband William and their newborn Billie, as well as Chris’ extended family. We initially all met at a local pub to enjoy dinner and drinks, before heading to William’s family vacation home in Grange-Over-Sands which will be home for the next week.

    We took a walk with Will to explore the town in the evening, and then the whole family called it an early night as everyone was tired from travel.    Read more
