    Exploring Oslo, flight to Istanbul

    Today we explored Oslo, and flew from Norway to Istanbul.

    We started our day with an absolutely fantastic breakfast at our hotel. It was quite a spread, and they even had two types of brown cheese!

    Next we took the tram downtown, and started our exploration of the city at the Oslo Opera House. This opera house was built right onto the water, and had cool architecture allowing guests to walk up onto the room multiple stories up via a ramp that served as the roof.

    Our next stop was the Akershus Fortress, which is Norways capital fortress. Interestingly this fortress hadn’t been invaded by enemy troops for 700 years until the nazis captured it in WW2.

    Our last stop in Oslo was The Royal Palace, which is where the Norwegian royal family lives. We walked around the building, and admired the soldiers on patrol outside.

    After this we did some trip planning from our hotel before heading to the airport for our flight to Istanbul.    Read more
