Takayama II

Following Gujo Hachiman, I once again found myself in Takayama. This time without the snow. It was a bit more crowded than usual with plenty of students. I was a bit disappointed that we weren't going to go to Hida Folk Village and that it was just going to be the main town.

We decided to have our lunch here but had to split ways because of my diet. I went with mom while my dad, sister, and brother went to sample the local beef. Mom and I had soba at a vegetarian-friendly restaurant. I liked how cozy it was, the food was also pretty good and filling. Since we still had time, I managed to rope my mom into joining me to visit the Showa Museum, a place that we had previously missed earlier back when I was here with Arvin and Roy. It was so worth it as it was way better than the Showa Museum I visited over at Fukushima.

It was large with plenty of antiques and paraphernalia that contributed to the nostalgic retro vibe. My mom particularly enjoyed taking silly pictures of herself using the various props around. I had smiles all the way. My dad and siblings later dropped by the museum to link with us and we all went back to the parking spot near Shoren-ji Temple, but not before paying a visit. It was quiet and cool inside, with a golden figure of the Buddha. We paid our respects and sat down.
