Another cloudy day as we got on the new car requested by my dad. This time we were going to Shiga prefecture and the first stop was the Shirahige Shrine. One of the five floating torii gates of Japan. Unfortunately, the road had been blocked and we couldn't get nearer to see what it's like on the other side but they built a platform so we were still able to get some semi-good shots out of it.
We stopped by a nearby mall for lunch, going up to the food court. I ended up getting more seafood and sat with my mom, glossing over the trip's photos so far. We also ate some crepe before going shopping at the nearby GU. Dad got me plenty of new clothes and I was pretty happy with my new wardrobe haul.
But we might have spent too much time here as by the time we got to Omi Hachiman, it seems like the supposed boat canal rides were already finished. Still, we got a pretty cool alternative in the form of a ropeway ride up Mt. Hachiman for some views of Lake Biwa. We also walked around the canals and got photos with the boats so it was pretty good all in all.
We tried to go for Hikone Castle as well but it seems like it was already too dark so dad asked the driver to just take us back to town. At night, we ate at a pretty good pizza place, the truffle pizzas were divine.Læs mere
