Nagoya

My last day with my family before I had to go back to Tokyo. I technically had work today so I set up my laptop waiting for the morning meeting but unfortunately, it was moved to the afternoon. A bit nervous about how things will play out, I still decided to go with the flow.

I checked out and hanged in my parents' room before the four of us, excluding my mom, went out to get lunch at a Thai restaurant we passed by a few days ago. The food was okay, nothing to write home about.

We then took a taxi to a nearby mall where my sister mentioned had a pretty interesting Tsutaya bookstore. The main draw were the columns of books and a mirrored ceiling making an amazing reflection shot with the staircases. It was also here that the meeting took place as I hid at one of the booths, using my MTW4s. Suffice to say they didn't suspect a thing and it went off pretty well! I then went to visit my dad at Uniqlo but didn't see anything that caught my eye. I also had to make a call to the hotel because I misplaced the business long sleeves my mom had brought for me along with the hotel pajamas thinking it was another pair of PJs. Thankfully, they found it and my mom got it back.

With most of the day's responsibilities out of the way, the four of us went to Nagoya castle via taxi. I put my things in the locker and we walked around the castle grounds. Nagoya castle was pretty impressive with its wavy roofs and navy green colors. We didn't get to see the inside but the nearby Honmaru Palace was also very impressive with its intricate artwork and ornaments. We also checked out the garden which was quite unassuming compared to the grander structures.

We took a taxi back to the hotel to reunite with my mom and together we went out for dinner, back to the same seafood restaurant we visited after Gifu. After dinner, it was time to say good bye as I went off to the Shinkansen platforms. We will see each other again in Denmark!Læs mere
