    Port of Baltimore & Underway

    April 30, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

Checking in- not hard, but lengthy. After arriving on time for 12:30 check-in, dropping bags, and parking, we stood in line for an hour, (met Cindy & Keith) entered the terminal, stood in line, got our Bermuda Travel Authorization checked, stood in line, checked in, and finally boarded a bit after 2 pm.. I was exhausted. We went to the room, and then off to explore.

Enchantment is a beautiful ship. She's much smaller than Oasis- much more in my comfort zone. I met W in the Schooner bar for a cranberry juice & water (with lime). At about 4, I was starving, and our dinner seating wasn't til 8. (!) (Yes, I tried to change to MyTime, but no joy.). We found the Solarium Park Cafe- similar food to the Park Cafe in Oasis. A tomato/mozzi sandwich and a couple of oatmeal raisin cookies kept body and soul together. Did I mention I was exhausted? So I went to our stateroom (3035) for a nap, missing Sail-away, but it was a good nap.

W returned to the cabin and we changed for dinner. Scheduled dinner is totally new to me, as we usually cruise Norwegian, and we had MyTime dining in Oasis. We were seated at a table for 6, and were joined by Terri and Bobby from Virginia Beach. Dinner for me was crabcake, prime rib, and hazelnut cake. W had antipasto, fried seafood, and creme bruleé.

I went to the theatre for the movie - "The 355" an W headed back to the stateroom. And then to bed.

  • Day 2 - At Sea

    May 1, 2022, North Atlantic Ocean ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

We lost an hour, but I woke up early. I do sleep well in interior rooms!

Headed up to the Solarium Cafe for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Discovered I can usually remove the top bun- (carbsaver). I met Linda and CJ from Williamsburg. Linda is an environmental engineer who got her Master's at Tech. CJ is an environmental scientist.Read more

  • Day 3- Bermuda

    May 2, 2022 in Bermuda ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

We docked around noon, and debarkation started at 1:00. We took the ferry from the Royal Naval Dockyard to Hamilton. We're next to Norwegian Pearl, which I think we saw a couple of weeks ago in the Caribbean(?)

The timing of the visit is a little strange, as most everything except for bars and restaurants close at 5:30, and the ferries run hourly, taking 1/2 hour. We revisited the HogPenny Pub, which we first went to 16 years ago on our first cruise. It was our 25th anniversary, and we sailed in Norwegian Crown- a very small ship (1000 passengers) compared to our subsequent travels.

We returned to the ship- took a nap, and had late night pizza in the Solarium Park Cafe.

  • Day 4- Bermuda

    May 3, 2022, North Atlantic Ocean ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

We had only a few morning hours before departure, so we asked the Visitor Center lady where was the closest beach. Turns out, there was one right near the ship! We paid $5 pp- nice, clean little beach. We didn't want to swim- just wade- which we did. Then we went upstairs in a little pavilion to a bar (closed) and sat on some comfy couches just enjoying the view. Then back aboard for some more sea time.Read more
