Walking down to the Buddhist re-creation of Hell

Had to try it! Used as: sun hat, rain hat, fan, carry water, & a market basket for fruit & veggies.

Every stand had chairs and tables out front. Very welcoming! Not sure Craig would fit 🤣

Craig was supposed to cover his mouth - he couldn't do it!! 🤣

Loved DaNang! We booked a private tour visiting Marble Mountain, Monkey Mountain & Lady Buddha which included a jeep tour and lunch. So nice having a tour guide to ourselves. A beautiful city & beautiful people.

Marble Mountain: huge natural caves used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding places & hospital during war. Also home to historical pagodas, Buddhist temples & 500yr old marble carved village. So glad I walked the 156 steps up to the top.

Monkey Mountain: a US military communications facility during the Vietnam War. Home to many endangered species notably the red-shanked douc langur (red monkey) which we saw in the trees but didn’t get a great photo.
