Runswick Bay

Today’s route began with a short downhill walk, followed with a beach walk then a fairly steep climb. Having began feeling refreshed (including our clothes) we soon began to overheat in the morning sun. We crossed through farmland, cows and sheep taking it easy in the hot sun. Roger began to recognise some of the places from 40 years ago including the old railway tunnel. Unfortunately it is blocked off but it did provide cooling airflow 😀.

With 5 or so miles to go we stop of at Sandsend for lunch, pretty little garden coffee shop for coffee, sandwiches and coke - need the sugar fix.

We’ve climbed uphill now to the hostel/abbey. Weather has now changed, cool air and rain. Sitting in the hostel cafe now planning tomorrow’s route and deciding which of the weather apps is most accurate. I like the one where the rain holds off until after 18:00 😀😀Baca lagi
